What Is The Best Browser for Developers?

Now that the dust has settled on our last poll, it’s time to once again poke and prod at the psyche of our developer mentality.  In today’s poll, we want to know what you think the best browser is for developers, and in the comment links be sure to tell us why.  Is Internet Explorer really safer than all the others?  Is Google Chrome just an attempt to increase Google’s Ad revenue more directly?  Now that Firefox kicked the sleeping dragon that is Microsoft into gear, will the open source community be able to keep up with commercial products?  How did all of the major browsers have their HTML5 support scores beaten by upstart Maxthon, and do we trust a browser from China?  Can Opera make the leap from tablets and mobile to find a home on our desktops before the Android browser replaces it as the most popular mobile browser?

  2. i have installed in my PC the most updated versions of IE, FF, OP and CG
as a developer, sometimes I have to try different browsers. my favorite is google chrome.

  3. Chrome has the better user experience and the usage numbers reflect that. For developers (subject of survey), Firefox has a vast amount of plugins and the best community of plugin developers, period. I will say though the IE developer F12 tools are quite nice and I’ve grown fond of the way it handles JS objects and CSS selectors.

I don’t believe any browser is “safe” it’s just the sites you browse and how knowledgeable users are (not installing every Facebook app that comes their way, not clicking Yes to installation prompts just to get their poker game working, etc). Sure there are zero-day events with everything but all the vendors seem to be pretty quick on patching, Microsoft has come a long way on that too.

I’m sure though this post was more to get traffic to the site LOL, browser wars will never get old.
