At TrainSignal, we’re all about education, and that includes educating ourselves on the latest and greatest in tech news. These stories caught our attention today and are worth a read over the weekend.

Apple might be launching a smartwatch? You ditched your Swatch when your iPhone become your favorite accessory, but Apple might be banking that you’ll wear a watch again if it comes with tricks. The web was abuzz with rumors Friday of Apple partnering with Intel to develop a Bluetooth-equipped smartwatch that would connect with your iPhone and essentially allow you to perform most iPhone functions from your wrist. Excessive? Maybe. But we bet that won’t stop you from buying it if the rumors prove true.

Because going to the theater since the invention of smartphones wasn’t annoying enough (we get it, you’re at the “The Book of Mormon” and it’s hilarious–now stop updating your Facebook status), a theater in Minneapolis is now offering the “first-ever tweet seats,” which are reserved for people who are encouraged to tweet throughout its comedy production of “The Servant of Two Masters.” At least this keeps all the Twitter addicts in one area!

Sorry, Santa: There’s a new Christmas tradition. App analytics firm Distimo released a report showing that app downloads in the Apple Store increased by 87 percent on Christmas Day compared to the month’s average daily downloads. Meanwhile, Amazon reports Christmas Day was the biggest ever for its digital downloads of books, movies and more.

See a self-portrait from space! NASA released an image of the Mars Curiosity Rover on Thursday. The image, which is really a collection of many photos taken by the rover’s robotic arm over two days, shows what the surface of Mars looks like, including a mountain in the background. It’s pretty sweet. Check it out on space.com.
