Pluralsight acquires Tekpub to bring you more training

tekpubIt’s been a busy few months at Pluralsight.

We’ve grown to more than 1,100 courses and 4,000 hours of training. We finished integrating the TrainSignal and PeepCode libraries, adding a wealth of IT admin and open source courses to your training arsenal. And October will mark a new record for the most courses we’ve ever released in one month. We’re at 58 and counting!

I’m thrilled to say we’re not slowing down. Today, we announced that we’re expanding our library yet again by acquiring Tekpub. Tekpub is a leading provider of high-quality technical screencasts for programmers. Its courses on C#, Ruby, JavaScript and others will be integrated into our library over the coming months, so you’ll be able to take advantage of them as soon as possible, at no extra cost to you. Tekpub’s customers will get access to our library almost immediately. And, I’m excited to share that we now have our first two Tekpub screencasts on the site:

Rob Conery, co-founder and creative director of Tekpub, brings an innovative and engaging style of screencasting to Pluralsight. I know you’ll love his content as much as I do. Rob will become an author for us, so he’ll continue to produce premier courses on Microsoft and open source technologies. Since Tekpub began in 2009, the site has gained a strong following among industry experts and has included notable guest instructors like Scott Hanselman and Jon Skeet. I’m personally very proud to have Rob joining our team at Pluralsight. Find out more about Rob and Tekpub by checking out his blog post.

We chose to partner with Tekpub because we are committed to bringing you more value than ever before. We strive to give you all the high-quality, hands-on training you need to excel in your career in one place. Think of us as the “one-stop-shop” for serious tech professionals.

Our generation is no longer surprised by technological upheavals; we expect them, and do everything we can to keep pace. A tech pro who has made a career out of, say, VMware, may be suddenly called upon to pick up and learn JavaScript at a moment’s notice. I am thrilled that Pluralsight has become a place where he can do that. We now have more than 400,000 members across 100 countries, absorbing the massive collective knowledge of our 350-plus course authors.

With our fast-paced growth, it’s important to us that we continue to scale in a way that works for you. We’re currently building out a new user experience that will make our vast library easier to navigate, so you can find the courses you want and see clearly everything we have to offer anytime, anywhere and on any device.   We want to hear from you and appreciate it when you take the time to request new features or share feedback at

We took our first and only round of funding almost a year ago, and I’m proud to say that we’ve made the most of it this year. I can’t thank you all enough for your loyalty and dedication to the Pluralsight community. When you grow, we grow, and when we grow, you grow.

I hope you’re as excited as I am about this news!
